Early Works

Inespressi abissi (2005 - 2007)

Inespressi abissi explores the relationship between external space and internal space with a symbolic and metaphysical approach. The theme is the urban landscape understood as an existential metaphor. The sources of inspiration are Carrà and De Chirico for their formal synthesis and lyricism, which I try to enhance and renew through colour and the use of biomorphic and alienating forms. The works explore the dark side of existence, placing it in dialogue with our aspirations and hopes.

Altri luoghi (2002 - 2004)

The theme of this pictorial cycle is elsewhere, a place born from a dreamlike and imaginative vision, from a sense of precariousness and, at the same time, a passion for life. The house and the tree are archetypal forms that become metaphors for the contrast between the static nature of matter and the lightness of the spirit, which in these works take on an indivisible entity. Light also becomes a metaphor for salvation and regeneration. The influence of the metaphysical painting of Carrà and De Chirico is evident, but the painting technique differs, relying on thin glazes that give the monochromatic tones depth and a sense of suspension. These works express the need to bring man back to his inner dimension and help him rediscover simplicity and sobriety.
