The way we perceive mountains reflects individual and social conditions. Mount in/out Side explores this idea and takes us on a journey along a hypothetical historical axis to examine the different ways mountains have been perceived and represented in the past and today. There are references to medieval iconography and culture, naturalism and symbolism, leading to the use of conceptual language in some sculptural works that address contemporary issues: the massification of the tourist experience, exploitation for recreational and commercial purposes, and the meaning that mountains have today in a society increasingly focused on urbanisation. With this series of works, I am trying to address an issue that, living in the Alps, affects me greatly and influences the life and politics of the people of this land.
